William MARSDEN, created DCL 28 June 1786, born at Vervel Co. Wicklow (eldest son of John Marsden DD), orientalist and antiquary, FRS 1783, FSA 1785, and secretary to the Admiralty about 1795. Died 6 Oct 1836.
